Blackmores Sydney Running Festival 2011
The annual Blackmores Sydney Running Festival is on Sunday 18th September, 2011
Fundraising has never been easier!
If you are going to run, why not raise funds for vulnerable Australian children and young people? And you can even run for free! Enjoy the pleasure and the pain (!) of participating in Australia’s most spectacular running event and help raise vital funds for Barnardos Australia.
Barnardos Australia needs crucial funds from the public to help break the cycle of abuse and neglect that many children and young people in this country suffer from. Your donation will help change the lives of children forever.
And if you run for charity - you can run for free! Check out the Sydney Running Festival website for all the info. Basically, to be eligible to run for free, simply commit to raising the dedicated fundraising target for your event through Go Fundraise and you will receive a rebate on your entry fee. (Rebate comes out of monies donated by the fundraiser’s donors).
If you choose to fundraise for Barnardos Australia we will give you an exclusive running pack. We will also help you set up your own fundraising page and support you with any fundraising questions you have.
SBS sports presenter and former Socceroo, Craig Foster, will again throw his support behind Barnardos and the event. Craig's Wife, Lara, and their youngest daughter, Charli, love the event and in particular the Family Fun Run: a 4km route over the Harbour Bridge.
Craig Foster says, “It’s a great event, a magic day out, an incredibly inspiring festival atmosphere and to top it off you know you are doing a good thing, a really good thing by fundraising for Barnardos Australia.”
As well as Craig, the Miss Teen team, will be there in full force representing the positive role young women can play, especially when influencing their own peers. Barnardos also hopes to welcome back individual runner, Larissa Tichon, who last year broke the Guinness Book of Records, setting a new record for the fastest marathon time running as a cartoon character. Go Larissa, go Sponge Bob!
Sign up today!
Thank you for believing in children.
