Barnardos believes in keeping the child central. We know the impact and consequences that neglect, abuse, poverty and homelessness have not only on the individual but on the community as a whole. We remain committed to being a responsive and accessible agency that balances the need for immediate help for children and young people in crisis, with work to prevent these crises from happening.

Child abuse has severe emotional and social consequences. Consequences that can have life-long repercussions for young people and society as a whole. We believe teenagers deserve to be safe and supported through the uncertainties and challenges of adolescence.
